Sixteen NC Counties Rank Among Best Places To Farm In U.S.

NC Ag FarmersLast week during his weekly radio interview with Southern Farm Network’s Rhonda Garrison,  Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler discussed Farm Futures Magazine recent rankings of the best places to farm in the nation.  North Carolina had a strong showing with 16 counties among the top 100. The highest-ranking North Carolina county was Bladen which came in at 10th.

Farm Futures analyzed various data and performance metrics to determine the top 100 from more than 3,000 U.S. counties. Other North Carolina counties that made it into the top 100 were Hertford (11), Anson (19), Wayne (24), Pender (25), Montgomery (32), Duplin (37), Sampson (40), Wilkes (46), Greene (51), Edgecombe (53), Union (54), Onslow (57), Richmond (81), Beaufort (82) and Lenoir (97).
