NCSU Vet School Open House – Great for families!

CVM open house

Bring the family to NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine’s open house. Saturday, March 28th from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

One Health: Your Family,Your Health

The “One Health” concept recognizes that the health of the environment influences the health of people and all animals–wildlife as well as pets, horses, and farm animals. One Health is of great interest to medical doctors, public health officials, veterinarians, wildlife biologists, marine scientists, agricultural producers–anyone, in fact, who is concerned with healthy life on a healthy planet.

Veterinary medicine is critical to the important global undertaking One Health represents. Learn what the concept means to you and your family while gaining an insider’s view into one of the nation’s top veterinary programs as the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine invites you behind the scenes for the Open House festival from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 28. No registration necessary.

children at Open HouseTour the Randolph B. Terry, Jr. Companion Animal Veterinary Medical Center and the classrooms and laboratories in the College of Veterinary Medicine. There are attractions in the Teaching Animal Unit, the Center for Comparative Medicine and Translational Research within the CVM Research Building, and numerous activities throughout the campus.

As always, the day includes interesting demonstrations, fun and informative displays explaining advances in the science of veterinary medicine and “One Medicine,” presentations on pet health; an opportunity to talk with faculty, staff, and students; and a chance to get up close with animals large and small.
