Football, the Fair and NC Agricultural Gratitude

It’s the most wonderful time of the year.

That’s right ladies and gentleman it is Football and NC State Fair season.

wolf statueNext Saturday, October 3rd, NC State plays Louisville at 12:30pm – before the Pack takes the field, North Carolina State University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences will host their 24th annual tailgate event, celebrating agricultural and agribusiness families from near and far with fun games, good food and fine entertainment. For more information see: NCSU CALS News Center, Celebrate NC AG Day or NC State Athletics

In honor of the North Carolina Farmer and NC Ag Day – we had the pleasure of shooting a #ThankNCFarmers video featuring North Carolina Agricultural leaders. We’ve shared the video and encouraged you to express the reasons you’re grateful for the North Carolina Farmer – by all means continue in that endeavor, and check out our video here: #ThankNCFarmers

As we lead up to NC Ag Day we’re going to count the reasons we’re grateful for the NC Farmer – please join in, because every day is a good day to thank a North Carolina farmer.

Then, in case you thought October couldn’t get any finer – the NC State Fair opens on Thursday, October 15th state fair ride blurand runs through Sunday, October 25th. I’m happy to report we will be back in the Jim Graham building this year and we look forward to talking with you about the foods we eat and the NC farmers that feed us. Bonus! I’ve worked up a little North Carolina Agriculture Trivia game – sort of Jeopardy and Trivial Pursuit meets NC Ag – and yes, there will be prizes.

The best way to win = follow us on social media.

I’ll be planting seeds with hints on all channels – so pay close attention!

I mean that most wonderful time of the year statement – as a North Carolina, fair-food-lovin’-football-fanatic, graduate of NCSU, daughter of a farming alum – yeah, this is by far one of my most favorite times of the year.
